FUNERAL OF ASA BANKS
Father of Twelve Children Laid to Rest Friday
Special to the Journal.
Iowa Center, Nov. 9--Funeral services for Asa C. Banks, 76, pioneer of this part of the county, were held from the church here Friday afternoon and interment was in the Iowa Center cemetery.Mr. Banks was a native of Canada, having been born in the Dominion May 19, 1849 and at the time of his death, Wednesday morning he was 76 years, 5 months and 15 days of age.
He leaves to mourn his death his wife, twelve children and twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild.
The sons are Ervill of Leon, Martin of Cedar Rapids, Wilbur of Maxell, Roy of Iowa Center, Lawrene, Harley and Freddie at home and the daughters are Florence Bottsett [should be Bottesi] of Minnesota, Edith Barnett of Iowa Center, and Pearl, Hazel and Mable at home.
There are also two brothers, Israel and John of Nebraska, a brother, Cliff of California, and a sister, Martha Boomer of Nebraska.
Mr. Banks was a man well and favorably known in the community and the wife and children will be extended the most profound sympathy of all.
