Spurling Funeral Held at Zearing Thursday Afternoon

Funeral services for Nellie Spurling, 23, who died at Iowa sanitarium here Tuesday were held a the Evangelical church in Zearing Thursday afternoon with Rev. C. E. Lookingbill in charge. Burial was in the Zearing cemetery.

Nellie Spurling was the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Spurling. She was born southwest of Zearing on the farm known as the Dave Frey farm and she has made her home in Story county until her death.

Nellie Spurling was born April 27, 1914, and passed away at the age of 23 years, 4 months on July 27, 1937 at the Iowa sanitarium, Nevada. She leaves to mourn her death her father and mother, three sisters and one brother the sisters Miss Ellen Spurling of Des Moines and Mrs. James Phillips of Des Moines and Mrs. Oscar Thompson of McCallsburg, the brother Everett Spurland of Zearing, and one nephew and host of friends and relatives.
