Rites Saturday in Nevada for Fred Sorensen

Funeral services will be at he Memorial Lutheran Church Saturday at 1 p.m. for Mr. Fred Sorensen, 1128 10th Street, Nevada.

Sorensen died Wednesday evening at 11:05 at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines after an illness of six months. He was 79 years of age.

Born November 7, 1891 in Nevada, he was the son of Rasmus and Mary Peterson [Petersen] Sorensen. He farmed during most of his life and, in recent years, had been retired. He was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church.

He was married in Nevada Dec. 10, 1913 to Miss Minnie Johnsen.

Survivors include his wife, one son Raymond Sorensen of Nevada, a daughter Mrs. Art Christiansen of Des Moines, three granddaughters; a brother Herman Sorensen of Nevada, and two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Strine of Winter Garden, Fla. and Mrs. Herb Shearman of Nevada.

He was preceded by three brothers, two sisters, and one son.

Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Harry Myklebust and burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery.
