Obituary of John Rogers.

John Rogers was born July 30th, 1836 near Sandusky City, Ohio and died November 1st, 1915 at the age of 79 years, 3 months and 2 days. He was married to Miss Susannah Meyers, November 24th, 1867. To this union five children were born two of whom have preceded him to the Great Beyond. He is survived by his wife, three children, five grand children and one brother. The children are Mrs. Henry Helvig, Mrs. Fred Helvig, and Mr. Otis Rogers all of Marietta, Minn. The grandchildren also reside there. His brother, Ralph Rogers resides at Oklahoma City, Okla. All were present at the funeral except one daughter, one son-in-law and Mr. Rogers brother, not being able to get here. Mr. and Mrs. Rogers with their family moved from Marshalltown to Zearing 23 years ago last March and have since resided here until the time of his death which it came suddenly Monday morning November 1st. Besides the relatives, there are very many warm friends who will miss the deceased and who extend to the bereaved ones their most heartfelt sympathy. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. M. Bamford at the home Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment is to be made in the Marshalltown cemetery Thursday.
