ABEL OLSON CALLED BY DEATH

Funeral Services were Conducted From Bergens Church Yesterday Afternoon.

Abel Olson, who with his wife recently returned from California, died at the home of his father Mr. A. A. Olson, Sunday night July 11th, following an illness extending over a period of about three months.

Mr. Olson was born in this vicinity July 6, 1892 and at the time of his death, was in his twenty-fourth year. He was educated in the Roland schools, being a graduate of our high school. He also studied at Ellsworth College, located in Iowa Falls, after which time he followed the vocation of teaching.

On the thirtieth of November 1914 he was joined in marriage to Miss Myrtle Highland and a little over a month later, they journeyed West, locating in California, where Mr. Olson was making preparations for entering the postal service of our government.

His death had brought the bitter cup of sorrow to the lips of friends and relatives. Sad indeed is the hour of separation, when the thread of life is loosed, especially so when that life is blossoming into the fullness of maturity. He was a fine young man, one of nature's noblemen in its truest sense, brave, generous and manly. His was the soul of honor and his friends and friendships were sacred to him.

His death is mourned by his wife, his father, his stepmother, his two brothers, Orville B. and Arthur, his two sisters, Mrs. I. M. Cole and Josie; his three half sisters, Viola, Jeanette and Florence.

A large number of friends and relatives came to pay their respects at the last sad rites of deceased yesterday afternoon at two o'clock when the funeral services were conducted. Rev. G. Smedal, his pastor, was the officiating clergyman. Interment took place in the Roland cemetery.
