From Nevada Representative December 8, 1916 (page 1)

MRS. E. A. WOOD.
From Mrs. Abbie Briggs Withy.

From her home at Colton, California Mrs. Abbie Withey writes concerning the recent death of Mrs. E. A. Wood which occurred at her home in Orange, California, November 26, 1916. "Perhaps you know that she had suffered from two strokes of paralysis within the last two years. From each one she rapidly recovered to the extent that she was able to perform the home duties with the aid of her very devoted husband. The found pleasure in doing for themselves, until she was stricken just about a week before her death which resulted from a third stroke. There was apparently no suffering in her last illness, but she continued to grow weaker until it was only the closest watching, that those about her were able to tell when the heart had ceased to act.

Charlotte E. Harrington was born near Napanee in the Province of Ontario, Canada August 26, 1843 and came with her mother and sister to Illinois when she was a young girl. There as a young woman she was married to Ezra A. Wood fifty-one years ago last June. They moved from Illinois to Iowa nearly thirty years ago--living most of the time in Nevada until fourteen years ago when they moved to California to be near a sister (who has since passed away.) Thirteen years of the time has been spent in Orange where they both have friends.

The funeral was conducted from the Methodist church of which she was a faithful and devout member, November 28 1916.

Mr. Wood is very feeble and as he is in need of the best of care, the home is to be broken up and he will go to the new Methodist hospital in Los Angeles for a time at least.
