Mrs. Jacob W. McCord passed away at her home six miles south of Colo early Saturday morning Dec. 8, 1916. She has been sorely afflicted with dropsy and kindred diseases for nearly two years. Mrs. McCord was Miss Martha Dunahoo until she was married to Mr. J. W. McCord about forty years ago. Five children were born to them all of whom mourn with their father a loving mother and faithful wife. They are Chas., Mrs. E. J. Brouhard, near Colo, Leo of Bancroft, Mrs. Claud Shickell near Colo and Clyde who is still at home. Besides these she leaves one sister and three brothers Mrs. Ella Whitiner of Indiana, J. F. and M. R. Dunahoo of Maxwell and Sam Dunahoo of near Nevada and other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held in the U. E. church at Iowa Center conducted by Rev. Fleming pastor of the Dalton U. B. church Sunday at 2 p. m. Interment was made at Iowa Center. Heartfelt sympathy is extended to the bereaved ones by the entire community.
