Cyrenus Bates Died on Sunday

Ames, May 7--Funeral services for Cyrenus Bates, 63, who died at Mary Greeley hospital Sunday night, were held Tuesday afternoon from the United Brethren church in this city, conducted by Rev. Pruitt and interment was in the Walnut Grove cemetery south of here.

Mr. Bates leaves his widow, seven sons and two daughters. The sons are Edward, Clyde, Gale and Ross of Ames and Clarence of Nevada and Andrew of near Cambridge, while the daughters are Miss Maude and Mrs. Vogt of Ames.

Two surviving brothers are Sylvester Bates of Cambridge and Theron Bates of near Ames and an only sister is Mrs. Jane Shearer of Ames.
