Funeral Services for Late John Ewalt

State Center, Sept. 11--Funeral services for John Ewalt, 71, who died Thursday afternoon at the home of his son in State Center, were held at 2 p. m. at the Brimhall-West funeral home here, with Rev. G. W. Blersborn of Liscomb, in charge. Interment was made in the Bethel Grove cemetery.

John Otis Ewalt was born April 27, 1868, near Des Moines and grew to manhood in the Melbourne neighborhood. He married Dolly Elliott Ferguson in Marshalltown in September, 1893. Mrs. Ewalt died in 1928.

Mr. Ewalt was the father of three children, two of whom survive, Mrs. Louis Bonaventure of Marshalltown, and John (Gordon) Ewalt of State Center. He is also survived by eight brothers and sisters, Mrs. Amy Hayes and Charles Ewalt of Des Moines, Mrs. Fred Drake of Union, Mrs. David Norman of Bangor, Will Ewalt of Liscomb, Burley Ewalt of Minnesota, Myron of Iowa City and Frank, Waterloo.
