Bert Pollock Dies on Train Enroute Home

W. A. "Bert" Pollock, 74, longtime resident of Zearing, died last night on a Union Pacific train enroute to his home at Glendale, California, from Zearing, where he had spent about three months. He boarded the train Wednesday morning at Ames.

A message from his son Robert R. Pollock Jr. of Glendale, stated that the funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 at The Little Church of the Flower in Glendale and burial will be in the cemetery there by the side of his wife who died a year ago August 8. He leaves only the one son.

Bert Pollock was one of the three sons of Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Pollock who came to Zearing from Iowa Falls about 50 years ago and engaged in the mercantile and banking business.

T. E. Pollock who first engaged in the banking business with his father at Zearing, left there because of ill health and lived for many years at Flagstaff, Arizona, where he died a number of years ago.

The other brother Robert Pollock had been in California for a number of years and died a few months ago at Pasadena.

W. A. was the last of the family, with the exception of his one son and had spent some months in Zearing looking after business matters and visiting with friends. He had been living in California for about 12 years, following the closing out of his banking and other interests in and around Zearing.
