Lewis A. Peterson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Peterson, was born March 20, 1878 on a farm five miles northwest of Story City. He passed quietly and peacefully away at his home in Story City on April 5, at the age of 69 years and 16 days. He had been in failing health for the past ten or twelve years prior to his death. However in spite of his suffering he never complained. He was a devoted husband and a loving father. Those memories will always linger in the minds of his dear ones.

He was baptized in the Lutheran Church when he was a child. On March 19, 1902 he was united in marriage to Mary Nelson. Two children were born to this union, namely: Alma, now Mrs. Fred Hendrickson, and Lloyd Peterson, both of Story City. Both children survive their father along with his devoted wife.

Mr. Peterson lived on a farm five and a half miles northwest of Story City until the year of 1933 when with his wife he moved to Story City. Besides his immediate family Mr. Peterson has left to mourn his death a brother Hans Peterson of Niagara, N. Dak., three sisters, Mrs. Will W. Nelson of Ft. Dodge, Mrs. L. P. Anderson, and Mrs. Henry West of Story City and many other relatives and friends. One brother, Peter Peterson, preceded him in death two years ago.
