From Nevada Representative April 12, 1920 (page 1)

MRS. E. F. BARTLETT

Marion Mead, daughter of Rachel M. and Asa B. Mead, was born at Blenheim, Canada, June 13, 1859. On December 14, 1876, she was united in marriage with Mr. Edward F. Bartlett. Two daughters were born to them. Early in life she accepted Christ at her personal savior and united with the United Evangelical church at Zearing. After moving to Colo she transferred her membership to the Colo U. E. church. She has not since been a faithful member not only of the church but also the different organizations of the same. She was also a member of the Royal Neighbor lodge and the Mothers' club. In each organization she was ever ready to do her full share. She was a faithful and loving wife and mother and a true friend. Mr. and Mr. Bartlett have lived in Colo about twenty years and have a wide circle of friends here who will greatly miss the departed one. Mrs. Bartlett had not been well for many years, but for more that a year she suffered severely most of the time. Last fall she and her husband went to California, hoping she might regain her health. For a time she seemed better, than was taken very ill. As soon as she was able to travel they returned home (about March 1st). All that love and skill could do was done, but in spite of all she steadily failed until she passed from this life early Thursday morning, April 8th, 1920, aged 60 years, 10 months and 22 days. She leaves to mourn their loss, her husband, two daughters, Mrs. May Couser of Nevada, and Mrs. Libbie Hefley of Zearing; four grandchildren, two brothers, John (who made his home with Mr. and Mrs. Bartlett) and W. T. Mead of Fernald; three sisters, Mrs. Marie Tisdale of Zearing, Mrs. O. J. Thorne of Ontario, Ore., and Mrs. Alice Kuhn of Winnebago, Minn., beside other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held at the U. E. church at two o'clock, Saturday afternoon, conducted by a former pastor, Rev. S. N. Ramige, of Marshalltown. Words of comfort were based on the text found in 2 Cor. 5:1. Interment was made in the Colo cemetery. The relatives already mentioned were at the funeral excepting two sisters, Mrs. Thorne and Mrs. Kuhn, who were unable to come. Mrs. Mark Moler, a more distant relative, of Marshalltown, was present, besides friends from neighboring towns. Sincere sympathy is extended to the bereaved ones.

CARD OF THANKS

We wish to express our sincere thanks to our friends and neighbors for the many deeds of kindness and the sympathy shown us during the illness and death of our beloved wife, mother and sister. E. F. Bartlett and Family.
