YOUNG MAN DIES FROM OPERATION

Leo Harrell, third child of Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Harrell, was born Nov. 21, 1891, and died March 2, 1920 at the Iowa Sanitarium as the result of an operation for what was supposed to be appendicitis, but which proved to be cancer tumor of the kidneys. His mother died May 16, 1917, and sister and one brother died when quite young. Two brothers, William resides in southern Iowa and Edwin in Nevada, one sister, Mrs. Talley of Waterloo.

He was married November 15, 1919 to Miss Clara Heins.*

Funeral is being held today at 2 p. m. at the F. O. Bishop undertaking parlors. Rev. M. E. Shank of the Evangelical church officiating.

The interment will be in the Nevada cemetery.

*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Marriage records in show Leo Harrell married Lida/Lyda Rasmussen on 15 November 1919 in Nevada, Story County, Iowa. She is listed as the daughter of Charles Hines and Hattie. Leo Harrell is listed as the son of Jerome Harrell and Phoebe Emely. However, her maiden name was actually Phoebe Ann Marsh.

The birth certificate of their daughter, Arlene Doris Harrell, born 5 November 1920 lists her parents as Leo Harrell and Lydia Ruth Rasmussen.
