Tweedt Funeral at Palestine Church

Huxley, Sept. 12--Funeral services for Mrs. T. K. Tweedt, 74, who died at the home of daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ole Fjelland west of Huxley on Monday night, September 4tht, at past midnight, were held Friday afternoon in charge of her pastor Rev. Peder Buland. There was a brief service at the home at 1:30 and at the Palestine church at 2:00 o'clock.

At the service at the church Rev. Ruland spoke in the Norwegian language and he was assisted by Mr. Nels Flugum who used the English language. Mr. Walter Christopherson rendered a solo which was a special request, "Tell Mother I'll be There" sung in Norwegian. A song "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" was sung by the choir. The pall bearers were Ed and Tom Wood of Eagle Grove, Elmer Dobbe, Miller and Eli Wee and Arthur Larson.

The church was filled to capacity. Interment was in the Palestine cemetery.

Helen Dobbe Tweedt was a daughter of Anna and Halvor Dobbe, and was born on February 16, 1958 at the Dobbe homestead 2 miles south of Huxley and passed away September 4, 1933, having reached an age of 74 years, 6 months and 19 days. She was married to T. K. Tweedt 49 years ago on March 21 an to this union were born three children, Harry, Annie now Mrs. Ole Fjelland and Clarence all of this community. She is also mourned by six grand children and three great grandchildren. She had two brothers, Ole and John and three sisters, Mrs. Betsy Wood of Eagle Grove and Mrs. Carrie Wee and Mrs. Randie Larson, all of whom were present at the funeral. A brother Lars Dobbe passed away some time ago.

Mr. and Mrs. Tweedt have resided in Huxley the past twenty years. Mrs. Tweedt had been ill since the first of March and the past couple of months she was given care at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ole Fjelland. She had an attack of the flu early in March and was never well since then. She suffered from anemia and cancer.

Relatives from a distance at the funeral were Mrs. Betsy Wood, Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Wood, Thomas and Bert Wood of Eagle Grove, Mr. Osmund Westre, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Berg, Mrs. Elmer Christianson of Jewell and Mr. and Mrs. John Tweedt and children of Estherville.
