LEE SCOTT DIED AT HOME IN ZEARING

HAD BEEN IN THAT COMMUNITY FOR PAST MANY YEARS

Zearing, Aug. 1--Lee Scott, 65, longtime resident of this community died last night after an illness that had covered over a period of about a year.

The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at the Evangelical church in Zearing. The church service will be at 2:00 followed by interment in the Zearing cemetery.

The deceased was born near Winchester, Indiana, April 24, 1868. When a child of but a year his parents moved to Burr Oak, Kansas, when that then border country was being settled. There he lived for some time but in early manhood came to Iowa and located near Zearing. Here he was married to Mary Blaney on Marc 19, 1891, and here his home had been since.

Five daughters were born to them, four of whom survive the father. They are Mrs. Walter Rasmusson of near Nevada, Mrs. John H. Smith of Sumner, Mrs. Paul Comfort of Radcliffe and Mrs. Bertha Eddy of near Collins. Anna died at the age of 10 years. He also leaves 22 grandchildren.
