STRANGER TOOK LIFE BY HANGING

MAN WORKING AT HANS LANGE PLACE SUICIDED SUNDAY MORNING

A man known as Frank Newman, age about 24 years, thought to be from Claremont, S. D., was found death suspended by a rope from a rafter in the garage at the Hans Lange farm, four miles south and 4 1/2 miles west of Nevada, Sunday morning about 7:00.

When Mr. Lange arose at that hour he missed the man, who had been working thee for about ten days and going out found his body hanging in the garage.

Sheriff Hattery and Coroner Mills were called at once and went to the scene. Examination revealed tha the man had been dead for a few hours. The body was removed to the Morfoot mortuary in Nevada, where it had been held pending word from his people at Clarement.

On his person was found about $80 in currency, a note addressed to the coroner and some other property now in the hands of the sheriff.

The note which was written on a piece of brown wrapping paper was lengthy, rambling an incoherent in suffering under the delusion of some imagined wrong.

He told of a certificate of shares which he owned in the The House of Guerney Inc., a seed house at Yankton, S. D. , which was found secreted where he directed on the Lange farm. He also told to two suitcases of clothing, one of which was secreted at Aberdeen, S. D., and another at Ortonville, Minn.

His address was given as Claremont, S. D., on various papers found and the sheriff had wired there in an effort to get in communication with his family.

He had been working for Lange about ten days, the farmer having picked him up on the streets of Ames.

The nature of the note indicated that the man was demented and the suicide was doubtless due to that condition.
