Obituaries

ISABELLE O. BRITSON

Funeral services for Mrs. Isabelle O. Britson were held from the Bergen Lutheran Church in Roland, on Wednesday, June 22, 1977 at 1:30 p.m. Reverend Howard Lybeck officiated. Favorite hymns were sung by soloist, Mrs. John Moore, accompanied by organist Mrs. Robert Eischen. Casket bearers were grandsons, John D. Rausch, Steven C. Johnson, Dennis Britson, Eddie Britson, Reginald Dear, and Brian Dear. Interment was in the Roland Cemetery.

Mrs. Britson was born Feb. 22, 1889, near Roland to Mr. and Mrs. Hilja Prescott.

On Sept. 11, 1906, she was married to Edward J. Britson. They lived four years in South Dakota, fourteen years at Northwood, Iowa, then moved to McCallsburg in 1925. She had lived in Nevada for the past seven years.

Survivors include three sons: Ergen of Marshalltown, Reuben of McCallsburg, and Edward of Nevada; nine daughters, Mrs. Ione Beal of Nevada, Mrs. Gladys Anderson of Hayforl, Calif., Mrs. Esther Hansen of Yuba City, Calif., Mrs. Sarah Rauch of San Diego, Calif., Mrs. Hazel Dawson of Eau Claire, Wisc., Mrs. Viola Morris of Springfield, Mo., Mrs. Norma Dear of Minnapolis, Minn., Mrs. Sybil Fuller of Denison, Ia., Mrs. Loretta Palmer of Youngstown, Ohio; thirty grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and four sisters: Mrs. Ray Charlson, Mrs. Lloyd Erickson and Mrs. Martha Nelson, all of Story City, and Mrs. Clarence Osmundson of Radcliffe.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. Britson and one daughter, Mrs. Mattie Johnson, as well as her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hilja Prescott.
