SADIE TRAVASE
Funeral services were held on Thursday, June 23 at 1:30 at Fjeldberg Lutheran Church for Mrs. Sadie Travase.
Pastor Merlin Norris officiated using the test 1 Peter 1:23-24-25. The congregation sang "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" and "My Faith Looks Up To Thee." Mrs. Robert Gustafson sang "How Great Thou Art" accompanied by her daughter on the piano. Church organist was Mrs. Jacob Lee. Pallbearers were LeRoy Anderson, Ole Legvold, Ossie Sheldahl, Orval Byrd, S.B. Sheldahl and Orval Hellekson. Interment was in Fjeldberg Cemetery, Huxley.
Sadie Travase was born on June 10, 1888 to parents Torris and Martha Weeks. She was one of ten children, seven girls and three boys. She was married to Jonal Travase on March 15, 1930. They lived in Des Moines and Huxley area all their married life.
Mrs. Travase suffered a stroke in 1970 and lived and Riverside Manor at Ames until she died on June 21, 1977.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Aug. 11, 1967. She is survived by a sister-in-law, Mary Weeks of Nevada, and nieces and nephews.
