MYRTE LEOTA FARREN

Funeral services for Myrtle Leota Farren were held Friday, Oct. 26, at the Colo United Methodist Church at 1:30 p.m.

Rev. James Louk was in charge of the service, Mrs. N. H. Brinkman being the organist and accompanying the soloist Mrs. Bill Carlson. Flowers were cared for by Mrs. Merle Dickinson and Mrs. John Lounsberry.

Casket bearers were nephews of the deceased, Galen Stratton, Ivan Jensen, Marvin Jensen and Donald Applegate of Nevada, Harvey Jensen of Boone and Art Stratton from Wisconsin. Interment was in the Colo Cemetery.

Myrtle Leota Farren, 72, passed away Wednesday, October 24, at the State Center Manor after a lingering illness. She was born July 7, 1901 in Grant Township to Lars and Metta Jensen. She was raised on a farm in the Shipley Community.

In 1923 she was united in marriage to Omer F. Farren. To this union were born fur children, Cora Marie, (Mrs. Robert Lathrum) of Winterset, Naomi, (Mrs. Kenneth Winsor) of Des Moines and Richard and Wayne Farren of Colo. She was a member of Colo United Methodist Church and the Cloverleaf Club.

Surviving are the four children and six grandchildren, Patty (Mrs. Tim Dykstra) of Newton, Jeannie and Mark Farren of Colo, Carole Lathrum, Cindy and Kathy Winsor of Des Moines, two sisters, Mrs. Alma Applegate of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Rose Stratton of Independence, Mo. and one brother, Lloyd Jensen of Nevada, and several nieces, nephews, relatives, and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers and one sister.

Relatives and friends attended from Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, and Independence, Mo.
