CHANCE FUNERAL TUESDAY AFTERNOON

ZEARING WOMAN DIED AT MARSHALLTOWN HOSPITAL SATURDAY

Zearing, Nov. 19--Funeral services for Mrs. Ed W. Chance, 60, who died at the Deaconess hospital, in Marshalltown Saturday, will be held at the Church of Christ here Tuesday afternoon at 1:30, with Rev. Kenneth Tuttle in charge. Interment will be in the Zearing cemetery.

Mrs. Chance had been ill but a couple of days and was hastened to the hospital as soon as pneumonia developed. Her death came as a distinct shock to the community.

She was born near Nevada in Story county, Jan. 25, 1874. She grew to womanhood in the county and was united in marriage to E. W. Chance in October of 1893. For two years in Warren township after which they moved onto a farm south of Zearing which had since been their home and were their five sons were raised.

The sons are Emmett, Howard, Donald, Marion and Eldon. She leaves besides her husband and sons, two grandchildren.
