Interment was in Center Grove Cemetery. Robert Gale Tomlinson, son of Marvin and Velma Tomlinson, was born near Maxwell, Iowa on July 27th 1940. He, with his parents and sister were active in home, Church and school interests. He would have been a junior in the Maxell schools this fall. He has been faithful in attendance at Youth organizations, Sunday School and church, and on April 2nd, 1953, he made his confession, was baptized and joined the Loring Evangelical United Brethren Church. Almost from the time he learned to walk, he was interested in the mechanical things about the home and farm. So much that the last few years he was becoming the handyman about the farm. He learned to respect machinery, but loved to work with them. On Thursday, while his father was in town looking after business matters, Bob was making preparations to grind feed and through some unexplained accident, he was found seriously injured by Mrs. Christy and his mother. He was rushed to the Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, where everything humanly possible was done to save his life, but to no avail. He passed on to be with his Creator at about 5:30 Friday morning at the age of 16 years and 13 days. He leaves to mourn his untimely passing, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Tomlinson and a sister Susan. Also his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A. S. Tomlinson, a number of Aunts and Uncles and Cousins, besides other relatives and a host of friends. CARD OF THANKS – The kindness and sympathy of neighbors and friends in our recent sorrow will always remain with us a precious memory. Our sincere thanks and gratitude for all those comforting acts. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Tomlinson and Susan. Mr. and Mrs. A. S. Tomlinson.”
