95 Year Old Ole Swenson Dies In Story City Friday

Ole E. Swenson, 95, long time Story City resident died at the Story City Memorial Hospital at 11:55 a.m. on Friday, March 25, where he had been a patient since February 10.

Born in Norway, Illinois on August 17, 1870, he was the son of Even and Martha Swenson. He was a carpenter by trade and had lived at Story City most of his life. In January 1966 he entered Story City Bethany Manor where he resided since.

Survivors include two sons and five daughters: Lester of Roland; William of Oakland, Iowa; Mrs. John (Agnes) Ose and Mrs. Gifford (Olive) Erickson, both of Story City; Mrs. Roy (Esther) Oss, Duluth, Minn.; Mrs. Virgil (Laurentia) Kelley, Brea, Calif.; and Mrs. Jack (Orella) Walker of Annaheim, Calif. There are 15 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and one brother, Oscar of Story City.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lora; four children, five brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be Monday, March 28 at 2 p.m. from Immanuel Lutheran Church, Story City with burial in Story City Memorial Cemetery. The Rev. Harold T. Masted will officiate.
