DEATHS
MRS. BYRON HOLT
Mrs. Byron (Luddie) Holt, age 67 years, Webster City died at Hamilton County Hospital in Webster City on Saturday, April 16 at 1 p.m., following an illness of several years.
Mrs. Holt, the daughter of Edward and Bertha Overland, Story City, was born on a farm near Rosendale (west of Story City) on February 14, 1899. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith in Story City and received her education in the Story City schools.
On February 12, 1921 she was united in marriage to Byron Holt. The couple resided in Story City, Jewell, Woolstock and Highview where Mr. Holt was in the service station business. In 1946 they moved to Webster City where they became members of Trinity Lutheran Church. Mrs. Holt was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary at Webster City.
Funeral services were held Tuesday from Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. R. M. Roden and Interior Steve Larson officiating with burial in the Graceland Cemetery at Webster City.
Mrs. Holt is survived by 2 sons: Edward Holt of Williams and Dean Holt of Jewell; eight grandchildren; a niece-Mrs. Beatrice Bode of Akron, Ohio and a nephew-Donald Overland, San Bernardino, California. Also 2 half sisters: Mrs. Milford (Helen) Johnson, Story City and Miss Anna Johnson, Phoenix, Arizona; and a half brother-Clarence Johnson of Des Moines.
Her parents, her husband, a sister (Cora) Mrs. Harold Crisman (sic) and a brother who died in infancy and two other brothers: Selid and Emil Overland; a half brother-Don Johnson, and a grandson-Dean Carroll Holt, Jr. have all preceded her in death.
