DEATHS
Nicholas John Scott
Memorial services were held for Nicholas John Scott at two o'clock Friday afternoon, Nov. 3, in the Campus Baptist Church in Ames. The Dr. L. Duane Brown, assisted by Rev. Ron Cochran were in charge. "Precious Lod, Take My Hand" was sung by Bob Loftin of Slater accompanied on the organ by Rose Benson. A college quartet composed of Tom Hall, Kevin Smith, Bob Loftin and Dan Schaeff sang "The Last Mile of the Way" and "Have You Any Room for Jesus".
Pallbearers were Richard Ihle, Kevin Cooper, Jim Reinabach, Dennie Wermerson, Dennis Moile and Lyle Scandrett.
Interment was in the Sheldahl Cemetery.
Nicholas John Scott was born in Des Moines, Iowa on Oct. 17, 1950 a son of John and Marlys Scott.
He was a 1969 graduate of North Polk High School and attended Boone Junior College until he became ill. Having the first occurrence of cancer in March, 1970, Nick underwent extensive medical treatment until his death on Nov. 1, 1972.
Survivors include his parents, John and Marlys Scott; two brothers, Timothy of Greenville, S. Car. and Tron at home; four sisters, Linda of Marshalltown, Valerie and Tracy at home and Mrs. Kathy Houge of Polk City.
His warm friendly personality and his strong testimony for Jesus will be long remembered by many.
