Webb, at Cambridge, was held at the Presbyterian church at Maxwell last Friday afternoon, the sermon being preached by Rev. H. G. Hicks, of Scranton, assisted by Rev. H. D. Robinson. Interment was in the Maxwell cemetery. Sarah I. Bell, daughter of John J. Bell and Sarah Bell, was born March 3, 1842, at Mt. Blanchard, Ohio, and departed this life March 5, 1924, at Cambridge, Iowa, at the age of eighty-two years and two days. She came, with her parents, to Nevada, Iowa, March 30, 1854, and was joined in wedlock to John W. John at Nevada, Iowa, March 30, 1861. To this union were born nine children: Edwin, who died in infancy; Edgar and Willard, of Tulsa, Okla.; Chas., of Gentry, Ark.; Blanche Bartlett, of Leota, S. D.; Ida Webb and Esther Heggan, of Cambridge, Iowa; Anna Bowen, of Maxwell, Iowa, and Fred, of Muskogee, Okla. Two sisters and two brothers, with the children, remain to mourn their loss. Soon after coming to Nevada she was converted and joined the Methodist Episcopal church of which she remained a faithful member. On October 24, 1912, Father John passed away and since that time she has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. C. M. Webb. She was a quiet and devoted wife and mother and her first thoughts were always for the happiness of her home and family. A conscientious Christian, always found in the house of God when her health would permit. Her work is finished and she has gone to her reward."
