THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, February 25, 1937, page 1, column 6. "Death of Infant daughter - Shawn Marie, twin daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. S. John, was born November 26 1936, and following a few days of illness with intestinal disorder, the death Angel plucked the tiny blossom Tuesday Feb. 16th at 5:30 p.m. Year by year we see the flowers bloom in all their beauty, live their life, then wither and pass on. But we know they are not dead. In God/s own time, they will bloom again in a more abundant beauty. We know this sleep we call death is not the end. Funeral services were held from the John home Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock, Rev. J. M. Doms having charge o the service. Mary Ann Smith sang two selection, with Ruth Hodgson as accompanist. The little form was interred at Bancroft beside a little brother who died 9 years ago. Survivors besides the parents are three brothers and sister, Shirley, and granma Mrs. J. J. John. The remaining twin, Shirley, is also ill at this time and Miss E. Cayler, at Bancroft came Tuesday to care for her. However Wednesday is was decided to take the infant to the Kossuth hospital where every means is being used to restore her health. The Monitor extends earnest sympathy to the bereaved family - Burt.
