NANCY PIERCE
CAMBRIDGE--Funeral services for Nancy Pierce were held from the First Methodist Church in Boone on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. with her pastor the Rev. Grace Anderson officiating.
Mrs. Nelson sang two songs, "Be Still My Soul" and "My Jesus as Thou Wilt" accompanied by the church organist.
Casket bearers were her schoolmates, Berkley Fletcher, Monte Sesker, Terry Jennings, Larry Gardner, Mike Warren and Bill Warren. Burial in Linwood Park cemetery.
Life Sketch
Nancy Cecelia Pierce, daughter of Harold and Dorothy Pierce was born in Boone, Iowa on Jan. 8, 1943 and died at Nevada, Iowa on April7, 1958 at the age of 15 years, 2 months and 30 days.
She moved with her family from Boone to Cambridge, Iowa in July 1955, their present home.
As a child Nancy united with Central Christian Church in Boone. On April 1, 1956 he church membership was transferred to the Methodist Church of Cambridge where she has taken an active part in the Church School and Methodist Youth Fellowship.
While in Boone she was a member of the Girl Scouts and in Cambridge she has been a member of the 4-H club. She was also a member of the High School Girls Basketball team.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Richard. She is survived by her parents, three brothers, Harold Jr., Leonard and Jon and two sisters, Elsie and Cheryl; also her two grandmothers, Mrs. Jeanette Olson of Boone, Iowa and Mrs. Mae Pierce of Polk City, Iowa.
