EDWARD WINSETT

SLATER: Last rites were held Sunday afternoon for Edward Winsett at the Riis Funeral Home at 3:00 p. m.

Pastor Leo O. Bjorlie of the Bethlehem Lutheran church had charge of the service and the committal service in the Slater Municipal cemetery.

Mrs. Don Pudwill sang two selections, "Rock of Ages" and "Nearer My God to Thee." She was accompanied by Mrs. Oliver Newman. There were many beautiful floral tributes and gifts in the memory of the deceased. Pall bearers were H. J. Carlson, Glenn Fausch, Jonas Christianson, Guy Lamb of Madrid, J. C. Ersland and M. S. Mickelson.

Obituary

Edward Winsett was born Nov. 6, 1884 at Sheldahl. His parents were Severt and Bina Erickson Winsett. His parents moved to Slater in 1887. He lived his entire life here, except for a few years residence in Madrid. He attended the Slater schools and followed the trade of electrician. He was employed for many years by the Iowa Electric Light and Power Co.

He was baptized by the Rev. H. C. Hohn and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in the Lincoln Lutheran church by the Rev. G. C. Gjerstad.

His health began to fail several years ago and he moved to the home of his sister, Mrs. E. C. Rood, who cared for him until it was necessary to move him to the Gilmore Nursing Home in Nevada on July 30, where he died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 1957 at the age of 72 years and 11 months.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. He is survived by his sister, Mrs. E. C. Rood (Bertha) and a brother, Simon. Several cousins also survive.
