Mrs. Anna Christopher
Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Christopher were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Deccember 31 at Story City Bethany Manor Chapel. Pastor William A. Ostroot, chaplain at Bethany Manor, conducted the service.
Pastor Rolfe S. Johnstad, soloist, sang "How Great Thou Art." Services were held in Immanuel Lutheran Church at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor C. A. Gisselquist officiating. Pastor Rolfe S. Johnstad, sang "In the Garden" and "En Liten Stund." The congregation sang "I Love to Tell the Story."
Interment was in the cemetery at Cambridge. Pallbearers were Eugene Meyer, Leonard Peter, Marvin Kokemiller, Melvin Peter, Lowell Posegate and Arnold Sansgaard.
Anna Mathilda Olson was born at Cambridge March 18, 1895 and passed away at Story City Bethany Manor, December 28. Her parents were Andrew and Sarah Handeland Olson. Anna attended the Cambridge Public School, graduating in 1913. On January 24, 1917, she was united in marriage to William A. Christopher, also of Cambridge, at the home of her parents.
The couple farmed at Rose Creek, Minn., then moved to the Cambridge area and later the Jewell and Story City areas. Two years later they moved to the Cambridge area and later the Jewell and Story City areas. Two years later they moved to Story City Bethany Manor. Anna had been in poor health the last few years. She had been a loyal member of the Lutheran Church and ladies aid.
She is survived by her husband, William; one daughter, Mrs. Udell (Margaret) Olson of Bella Vista, Ark.; three grandchildren: Mrs. Alan (Sharon) Swenson of Thompson; Wayne E. Olson of Ames, and Mark S. Olson of Minneapolis, Minn.; also four great granddaughters: Kimberly and Tammy Senson and Jennifer and Andrea Olson; one sister, Mrs. Sylvia Berhow of Story City Bethany Manor; two brothers: John Olson of Glendale, Calif., and Oscar Olson of Des Moines.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Sadie.
