Funeral Services Held For Mrs. Frank Elliott

COLLINS -- Funeral services for Mrs. Frank Elliott were held in the Methodist church in Collins Monday afternoon, January 19, at two o'clock with Rev. G. M. Talbott, pastor of the Collins E. U. B. church, officiating.

Mrs. Allen Struthers and Milton Hale sang "Shadows" and "In the Garden" accompanied by Mrs. C. R. Stone at the piano.

The many beautiful floral offerings were cared for by Mrs. Flavius Pritchard and Mrs. R. G. Patton.

Casket bearers were Byron Keagle, Dewey Kern, Flavius Pritchard, C. R. Stone, George Thompson and Dan Wilson.

Interment was in the Collins Evergreen cemetery.

Obituary

This community was saddened to learn that Mrs. Frank Elliott, a resident of Collins, had passed away at seven o'clock Friday morning, January 16, in her home after a lingering illness.

Mrs. Elliott was operated on at Nevada April 3, 1952 when it was found that cancer had advanced to that stage where medical science would only relieve. She returned to her hoe where loving relatives and friends did everything possible to keep her suffering to a minimum. She did not complain of her ailment and suffering but was appreciative of everything done for her comfort and remained cheerful to the end. Her great faith in her Creator was manifested at all times. Her thoughts were always of those near and dear to her. When health permitted she was active in community affairs.

Blanche Olive Hall was born August 7, 1885, in Maxwell the only daughter of Franklin Lee and Clara Laurinda Hall and was 67 years, five months and nine days old at the time of her death. While living in the country near Maxwell she attended the Phillips school. Later she moved with her parents to the Willow Creek vicinity. In 1907 she moved to a farm in Hand county, South Dakota where she lived until the spring of 1910 when she moved to Redfield, South Dakota, where she lived until again returning to Iowa. She always became a real part of the community in which she lived and her friendships were by the hundreds.

She was married on January 18, 1944 to Frank Elliott. Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons by a previous marriage, Harold E. Mather of Firebaugh, Calif., and Duane Mather of Santa Clara, Calif.; two brothers, Clyde D. Hall of Collins and Willis A. Hall of Miller, South Dakota and a granddaughter, Joan Mather of Redfield, South Dakota.
