FRANK ELLIOTT
COLLINS--Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Monday afternoon for Frank Elliott with the Rev. Thomas Woodin officiating. Mrs. Earl Robinson was at the organ and accompanied Mrs. Richard Holland and Mrs. Donald Pointer when they sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "The Lord Is My Shepherd."
Casket bearers were Harold Hale, Roland Long, Edd Stratton, Floyd Kelderhouse, Harry McElwee and Donald Pointer. Flowers were cared for by Mrs. Don Wilson and Mrs. George Briles.
Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery with Brouhard's of Zearing in charge.
Life Sketch
Francis (Frank) Eddie Elliott, son of Zachariah and Elizabeth Jane Elliott, was born near Collins July 24, 1871 and died at the Kirkwood Nursing Home in State Center March 3, 1959, aged 87 years, seven months and 11 days.
His entire life was spent in the Collins area on farms and the last few years after retirement he moved into Collins.
He was first married to Mary Baxter and to this union was born one daughter, Leah who died in 1925. After the death of Mrs. Elliott he married Beth Runyan of Webster City who died. Later he married Blanche Matthews who als preceded him in death.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters and six brothers, Frank being the last member of the family.
Surviving are a number of nieces and nephews and a son-in-law, George Honeck of Albuquerque, N. M., to whom his daughter Leah married.
Relatives from Newton, Cambridge, Maxwell, Rhodes and Williams were in attendance at the funeral.
