OLE MATHISON DIED

Funeral services were held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock at Lilly's Funeral Home in Nevada for Ole S. Mathison, who died Wednesday last week at his home from heart disease. Rev. C. V. Pence of the Nevada Church of Christ, officiated in the absence of Dr. J. O. Simon of the Memorial Lutheran Church, of which the deceased was a member.

The pall bearers were H. H. Hunter, D. B. Olson, George Olson, Carl Muse, Rudy Klingreis and M. J. Hensinkveld. Burial was made in the Nevada cemetery.

Ole Severin Mathison was born on a farm northwest of Roland on October 6, 1881, and passed away in Nevada on July 2, 1941, at the age of 59 years, 8 months and 26 days. He was the youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ole Mathison of this place.

He was baptized and confirmed in Bergen Lutheran church at Roland. On April 27, 1913, he was married to Miss Louise Potgieter of Steamboat Rock. To this union three children were born, Mrs. Frank Romeo of Des Moines, June Mathison of Postville and Victor at home.

Mr. Mathison was engaged in several business ventures in Roland. He moved to Crystal Lake, where he lived for a number of years, returning to Story City where he was employed for some time. About five years ago, he moved to Nevada, where he was employed in the locker plant. He retired from his work last December because of his ill health.

He is survived by Mrs. Mathison, and his three children, two brothers, E. Henry Mathison of Montebello, Cal., and Carl J. Mathison, and two sisters, Mrs. Swen Nessa of Story City and Mrs. Sam Nelson of Minnesota.
