THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, July 10, 1902, page 1. "OBITUARY. - A letter from Mrs. Effie Yocum, of Wheatland, Wyoming, chronicles the death of Mrs. Mary Dunham, a former resident of Story county, at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Hattie Braae, of Binford, Wyoming. Mrs. Yocum is an adopted daughter of the deceased. Mrs. Dunham was seventy-seven years, three months and eleven days old at the time of her death and had been an invalid for several years. She was born in Miami county, Ohio, and was married to M. R. Dunham of the same place. Mr. and Mrs. Dunham moved to Iowa in an early day where they lived for twenty years, undergoing the hardships of pioneer life. Mr. Dunham died twenty years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Dunham had no children of their own, but had an adopted son and daughter. But few of her friends were with her at the time of her death as most of them live in the far east, except one sister who lives in Nebraska. Mrs. Dunham was well and favorably known in the vicinity of Maxwell, as she was ever performing charitable acts and deeds of kindness, and was a patient sufferer through all her years of affliction. The remains will be brought here and buried by the side of her husband in the Iowa Center cemetery, as soon as the weather will permit. The sorrowing friends have the sympathy of all."
