THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, February 21, 1895, page 1, column 4. "Died. - Sylvia Maud, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Dunahoo, of Iowa Centre, Saturday morning, February 16, 1895, aged 9 months and 5 days. After battling with brain fever for two weeks, the little babe died of exhaustion. The parents have the sympathy of the entire community in their sad affliction. Funeral services Sunday morning, conducted by Rev. Force, after which the burial took place in Iowa Centre cemetery. "Sylvia, dear Sylvia can it be Thou shalt return again never? Say not the cold grave has swallowed thee. Thou art an angel ever."

Little Sylvia was born May 11, 1894, thus making her nine months and 5 days old. She was such a sweet and winning child that it was hard to part. Ah, their band is broken. Another home is sad; Yet little Sylvia's resting Save in Jesus Arms. Long Bill." "CARD OF THANKS. - We desire to return our sincere thanks to one and all who so kindly assisted us during the sickness and at the death bed of our dear baby. May God's blessings rest upon you all. J. F. and Mary Dunahoo."
