Final Rites in Colo for Mrs. Ica Rinehart

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, Feb. 3, from the Colo Methodist church for Mrs. Ica Rinehart, who passed away Sunday, Jan. 29, at Pomona, California. The Rev. John Rex, pastor of the church, was in charge of the rites.

A quartet, composed of Mrs. Anna Lounsberry, Mrs. Isabelle Bamford, Paul Henry and Mark Wilson, sang two numbers, "Face to Face" and "The Old Rugged Cross". Mrs. Gladys McIntoch accompanied the numbers on the piano. She also played appropriate numbers preceding the services.

The many and beautiful flowers were cared for and arranged by Mrs. Lottie Goodenow, Mrs. Hattie Binder and Mrs. Mayme Binder.

Casket bearers were Chester Dickinson, Art Perry, Nelson Perry, Roy O'Donnell, Walter Mains and Will Snyder. Interment was in the Colo cemetery besides her husband who preceded her in death several years ago.

Obituary

The following obituary was read by Rev. Rex during the services.

"Ica D. Brouhard, daughter of Barnett and Martha Brouhard, was born south of Colo on April 3, 1871, and passed away at Pomona, Calif., Sunday, Jan. 29, 1950, at the age of 78 years, nine months and six days.

"She grew to womanhood in the Dalton community, where she attended school and spent several years on the farm.

"She was united in marriage to Sherman D. Rinehart on May 19, 1890, and to them were born two sons and a daughter, who survive her. After eight years on the farm, the family moved to Colo where they lived until 1946 when they moved to Pomona, California.

"Mrs. Rinehart became a member of the United Brethren church at Dalton when young in life and after moving to Colo she transferred her membership to the Methodist church. She was organist in the Dalton church and the Colo Methodist church. With her husband, she assisted with the music and singing in the church and community for many years.

"She was active in various organizations and work of the church and very willing to render service to other people. She was a charter member of both the Royal Neighbors and B F and F club in Colo."

Survivors

Surviving are two sons, Guy A. of San Diego, Calif., and Glen F. of Pomona, Calif.; one daughter, Mrs. Velda L. McCaffrey of Pomona, Calif.; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren, all of California, also three brothers, E. J. Brouhard of Cleveland, Ohio, R. W. Brouhard of Colo and O. J. Brouhard of Ames, and two sisters, Alice Day of Waterloo and Ola Austin of Des Moines.

Mrs. McCaffrey and Glen Rinehart accompanied the body to Colo. Other attending the rites from a distance were from Des Moines, Ames, Nevada, Waterloo and Lanark, Illinois.
