Special to the Journal:
Colo, June 22--Sherman D. Rinehart, 70, for some time oldest native son of this place, who had lived in Colo continuously, is dead here today.

Mr. Rinehart died at midnight as a result of injuries suffered in a fall from a ladder while engaged in some roof repair work at the residence of Mrs. Marie Tummell, Tuesday afternoon.

Everett one was working with him at the time. Mr. Rinehart fell when the extension ladder up which he was carrying a heavy paid of material slipped, throwing him to cement walk below.

He suffered a fractured skull, concussion of the brain and probably internal injuries. Neighbors who were summoned by the Jones boy hurried him to his home and doctor was called at once. he apparently regained at least semi-consciousness at times, but it was apparent from the first that his injuries were to prove fatal.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon from the Colo Methodist Episcopal church and burial will be in the Colo cemetery, where his parents are buried.

Mr. Rinehart, born in Colo and living here all his life, was well known and highly respected as a citizen and business man.

He leaves besides his wife, his sons Glen Rinehart of Hollandale, Minn, and Guy Rinehart of Ames and one daughter Velda, Mrs. Francis McCaffrey of Ames. He also leaves three sisters, they being Mrs. Artie Coughenour of Des Moines, Mrs. Lillian Schoonover and Mrs. Jessie Fleming of Colo.
