MISS IDA TROUTNER
COLO --Funeral services for Miss Ida Troutner, 79, were held on Monday afternoon, April 14th at 2{00 p.m. at the Colo Evangelical United Brethren Church, with the Rev. J. A. Ogden, pastor of the church officiating. Charles Lehman sang "What a Friend We Have In Jesus" and "The Beautiful Garden of Prayer." Organ music was furnished by Mrs. Ralph Schnur.
Burial was made in the Colo Cemetery. Mrs. Marion Christian and Mrs. Mae Perry cared for the flowers. The casket bearers were John Peck, Marion Christian, Roy Ginter, Francis O'Donnell, John Andrews and Ernest Nehring. The Brouhard Funeral Home of Zearing was in charge of arrangements.
Life Sketch
Ida Troutner was born on March 23, 1879, a daughter of Leonard and Catherine Troutner, in Story county, Iowa. She spent her entire life in Story County, living on a farm until 13 years ago when she moved to Colo, where she has since made her home. She joined the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Colo in 1902.
Miss Troutner adopted two nieces, Mrs. Wm. (Clarice) Stinson now living in Germany; and Mrs. Jasper (Lillian) Pullen of Gary, Indiana; and one nephew, Lyle Hunt of Colo, who made his home with Miss Troutner. She also raised two other nieces; Katherine Hunt, deceased; and Mrs. Roy (Susie) Fetters of Green City, Mo.
Miss Troutner died April 12, 1958, at the Story County Hospital at Nevada, Iowa. She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by all of her seven brothers and sisters.
