Mrs. Sarah Davis Was Interred at St. Patrick's Cemetery
Funeral rites for Mrs. Sarah Koin Davis, 83, long time resident of Nevada, were held at 9:30 a. m. today at St. Patrick's cemetery by the side of her late husband, J. M. Davis.
Mrs. Davis died Sunday morning at the home of her daughter, Margaret Collins, at 3566 Fifty-ninth street, Des Monies, after an illness of about two weeks. She had been at the home of Mrs. Collins since Oct 1. Pneumonia was the cause of death.
Born at Freeport, Ill., a daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Koin, she came with them to Iowa when a girl and located on the old Koin homestead in Milford township. The trip was made in covered wagon and took two weeks to make. The only survivor of the Koin family is Mrs. Ella Kersey of Grand Junction.
Three time married, she died a widow, the third husband, Mr. Davis having passed away on Nov. 13, four years ago.
She is survived by George Elmer Carmody of Elmhurst, Ill., William P. Carmody of South St. Paul, Minn.; Mrs. Ida Carmody Taylor of Collins; Mrs. Bertha Carmody Burke of South St. Paul, Minn.; Mrs. Margaret Carmody Collins of Des Moines and Mrs. Veva Johnes-Moore of Ina, Ill. One son, John Louis Carmody died in Oakland, Cal.
She also leaves 11 grand children and one great-grandchild.
