Obituary Well Known Cambridge Woman

Cambridge, Oct. 18--Funeral services for Mrs. Ellen Glasgow, who died at her home near White Oak, October 11, were held at the Methodist Episcopal church here, with Rev. Charles Hohanshelt of Waukee in charge.

A quartette consisting of Mrs. Ira Espe, Mrs. Bjorne Brekke, C. M. Webb and Dr. Houser sang three of her favorite songs. The pallbearers were her four sons and two sons-in-law.

Interment was in the White Oak cemetery by the side of her husband and two infant sons.

Beautiful floral offerings expressed the high esteem in which she was held.

Barbara Ellen Freemen, daughter of Wm. and Elizabeth Freeman was born in De Kalb county, Ill., Oct. 12, 1871 and died at her home south of Cambridge, Ia., Oct. 11, 1935 age 63 years, 11 months and 29 days after a lingering illness of four years.

She spent her early childhood in De Kalb, Ill. At the age of 11 she moved with her parents to Calhoun county near Lake City, Ia., where she grew to womanhood.

On Aug. 14, 1887 she was united in marriage to Wm. T. Glasgow of Story City. They resided in that vicinity until 1891 when they moved to Iowa Center. In 19-2 they moved to their present home south of Cambridge.

In 1908 Mrs. Glasgow united with the United Brethren church at White Oak near her country home and was an ardent worker in its Ladies Aid Society. During the four years that Mr. and Mrs. Glasgow resided in Cambridge, they attended the Methodist church and Mrs. Glasgow was a faithful worker in its activities especially in the work of the Dorcas society where she made many warm friendships.

She leaves to mourn her passing six sons and four daughters. The are Walter Glasgow of Jefferson, Ore., Ira, Lake city, Mrs. Olive Sava--- of Auburn, Mrs. Glady Sparks, Moline, Ill., Clarence of Fergus Falls, Minn., Romer of Chicago, Russell of Clarinda, Mrs. Erva Hansen, Ames, Mrs. Erma Spangler, Clinton and Clark at home. She also leaves 18 grandchildren and one great-grand child, three brothers and three sisters, John Nf of Manson, D. W. of Vineburg, Calif., Ed of Lake City, Mrs. F. W. Sheffield of Lanesboro, Mrs. L. F. Andrew, Tracy, Minn., and Mrs. Laura Colegrove of Lake City. Besides a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband on July 28, 1934, one daughter Mrs. Fay Woods and two infant sons Arnold and Francis.

Mrs. Glasgow was a fine sweet spirited Christian, very loyal and loving in her home, a loving neighbor and patient sufferer during her long illness. Her beautiful life has been an invaluable contribution to her community and its social and religious life.

Those from a distance attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. John Freeman of Manson, Mr. and Mrs. Lew Andrews and daughter Ruth of Tracy, Minn., Mrs. Walter Sherer of Lordville, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Sheffield of Lanesboro, Mrs. Vern Krause of Auburn, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Olson of Lake City and Mrs. Sam Freeman of Lake City.
