COLLINS MAN WAS FATALLY INJURED

GEORGE GILLY DIED WHILE ON WAY TO HOSPITAL SATURDAY

Collins, Dec. 30--George M. Gilly, 65, died late Saturday afternoon from injuries sustained when he was struck on the head by the heavy tongue of a capstan, which he was preparing to load, was released by the spring and swung over striking him over the head.

Mr. Gilly was being assisted by his son Gerald at the time and when it was seen that he was seriously injured and he was placed in a motor car and started for a Des Moines hospital, but died before he reached there.

Mr. Gilly has lived in the vicinity of Collins for years and leaves his wife, a son and three daughters. The son is Gerald Gilly, with him when the fatal accident occurred, and the daughters are Mrs. E. A. Fertig, Mrs. O. M. Smith and Miss Zola Gilly.
