DEATHS

EDITH EDNA LEE

Edith Edna Lee, 97, of Mitchell SD died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 1987, in Mitchell.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Dec. 12, at 2 p.m. at the Vittner Funeral Chapel in Mitchell. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery at Mitchell.

Mrs. Lee was born June 14, 1890, at Maxwell IA to James and Mary (Reynard) Maxwell. She grew up and attended school at Maxwell.

She was married to Jacob Lee April 29, 1906 at Des Moines IA. They farmed at Cambridge IA for a number of years. They moved to Artesian SD in 1927 an later lived in Forrestburg SD and Letcher SD. They moved to Mitchell in 1944.

She was a licensed practical nurse and following her husband's death in 1944 she worked in California and Oregon. She returned to Mitchell in 1969 and had been a resident there since.

Survivors include six children: Alice Tynan of Des Moines, Margaret Zoss of Forrestburg, James M. Lee of Citrus Heights CA, Goldie Scott of Fedora SD, John W. Lee of Huron SD and Iris McDonough of Salem OR; 27 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1944; a son, Phillip; a daughter, Helen; one brother, two sisters, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
