DEATHS
MYRTLE MARIE HUTCHENS
Myrtle Marie Hutchens, 81, died Monday, Dec. 7, 1987, at Oak Park Care Center, Nevada IA.
Funeral services were Thursday, Dec. 10, at 1:30 p.m. at Cooper Funeral Home in Maxwell IA with Rev. David Vernon officiating. Burial was in Collins Evergreen Cemetery, Collins IA.
Mrs. Hutchens was born Nov. 1, 190, in Collins to Walter Bates and Martha Stevens. She graduate from Collins High School in 1924 an the University of Iowa in 1928. She was married to Lawrence W. Hutchens July 9, 1948, in San Diego CA.
Mrs. Hutchens was retired. She had held a civil services job with the US Government. She belonged to the Christian Church in Collins. She moved from Washington DC to Collins. More recently she had been at Oak Park Care Center.
She lived in Washington DC, Texas, Kansas, California and Washington state while her husband was in the Army. She returned to Washington DC after his death Nov. 28, 1950. He was killed in action in Korea.
Survivors include two sister, Mary Jones of San Jose CA and Florence Hand of Nevada.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters and a brother.
