Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Karyl Lee Ferguson, age 79, of Ames, passed away on June 6, 2019 at Northcrest Retirement Community in Ames with her family by her side.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at First United Methodist Church in Ames. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Ames Municipal Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Adams Funeral Home and online condolences may be left for the family at www.adamssoderstrum.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Karyls name may be directed to First United Methodist Church In Ames or Mary Greeley Hospice.

Born on October 22, 1939 In Ames, Iowa, Karyl was the daughter of Harold and Alma (Wright) Sills. She graduated from Ames High School in 1957. Karyl was united in marriage to William "Bill" Ferguson on June 5, 1960 at First United Methodist Church in Ames. Throughout the years, Karyl was an Insurance Agent, working for Triplett Real Estate and Insurance and Knapp Tedesco Insurance. She enjoyed reading and puzzles. Karyl and Bill always had a miniature pinscher companion in their home. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Ames.

Karyl is survived by her husband of 59 years, Bill of Ames; a son, Mark (Teresa Bergeson) of Webster City; a daughter, Michelle (Jeff) Eilers of Ankeny; grandchildren: Brittney Eilers and Logan Eilers, both of Ankeny; and a sister, Janet (Russell) Strong of Ames. She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family would like to thank Mary Greeley Hospice and all the caregivers at Northcrest Retirement Community who have taken such great care of Karyl over the past year.
