Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.
Dorothy Ogden, age 80, of Ames passed away June 10, 2019. Visitation will be Sunday, June 16, 2019 from 2 until 4 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home, 502 Douglas Ave., Ames. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 17 at Adams Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Story Memorial Gardens Cemetery. There will be a luncheon following the graveside service served by the members of Pleasant Grove Community Church, 56971 170th St. Ames.
Dorothy Lorraine Ogden was born on July 12, 1938, the daughter of Raleigh and Lois (Spooner) Rumbaugh in rural Mingo, Iowa. She graduated from Cambridge High School. Dorothy married Donald Ogden on August 31, 1961. She enjoyed attending Bluegrass Music festivals, camping and sewing.
She is preceded in death by her parents and four siblings, Lonnie Rumbaugh, Lola Weatherman, Mary Breer and Darleen Breer. Dorothy is survived by her husband Donald Ogden; children, Lois Bartleson of Ames, John (Reva) Ogden of Granite City, IL, Paul (Laura) Ogden of Zearing, Earl Ogden (Phyllis Geer) of Huxley, Duane (Doreen) Ogden of Webster City; five siblings, Henry (Janice) Rumbaugh of Huxley, Joe (Jean) Rumbaugh of Ankeny, Nancy (John) Hunter of Nevada, Juanita (Jim) Loonan of Collins, Chris (Gary) Fehring of Mount Maria, MO; eleven grandchildren, Laura Mayfield, Lisa Bartleson, Lance Bartleson, Christopher, Cody and Tyler Ogden, Matt, Russ and Rick Peters, Katie Gardner, Joseph Ogden and fourteen Great-Grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Pleasant Grove Community Church.
