DR. CLIFFORD R. PARRISH

Clifford R. Parrish, DVM, 65, of RR1, Boone IA, died Tuesday, July 14, 1987, at his home.

Death was due to cancer. He had been ill 21 months.

Dr. Parrish was born Oct. 23, 1921, at Ogden IA to Clifford O. and Lucille (Harvey) Parrish. He was a Nevada resident 42 years.

He was married to Vonis Anderson Nov. 23, 1945, at Boone.

Survivors include his wife, Vonis; two daughters, Ellen Becvar of Colo IA and Dawn Meade of Des Moines IA; two sons, Paul Parrish of Boone and Mile Parrish of Buffalo MN; a brother, Gerald, of Boone; three sisters, Lorraine Mudge of Boone, and Mary Lee Selchan of Seattle WA; an aunt Zella Munsum of Boone and nine grandchildren.

Dr Parrish owned and operated the Nevada Veterinary Clinic from his graduation from Iowa State University in 1945 until recently.

He was a member of Central Presbyterian Church in Nevada, Masonic Lodge No. 99, Za Ga Zig Shrine Temple, the Iowa Veterinary Medical Assn. and the American Veterinary Medical Assn.

His community activities included being the Story County 4-H and FFA Fair veterinarian, and serving with the Nevada Fire Dept., on the Nevada City Council and the CPI Club.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, July 17, at Central Presbyterian Church in Nevada with Rev. Brad Braley officiating. Burial will be in Linwood Park Cemetery.
