Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Hanson, 89, of Story City, were held Wednesday, Dec. 31, 1980 at the Bethany Manor Chapel, Story City. Rev. Duane O'Tool and Rev. Enoch Hall were in charge. Virginia Jewell sang "In the Sweet Bye and Bye" and "Will There Be Any Stars in My Crown." Louise Olson was organist.
Pall bearers were Richard Munsen, Robert Murken, LaVerne Smith, Jeffrey Rasmussen, Clifford Hanson and Elmer Jensen. Burial was in the Story City Municipal Cemetery.
Emma Johnson, daughter of George and Mary Johnson, was born Sept. 8, 1891 in Story County.
In 1917 she married Andrew Hanson. The couple farmed southwest of Story City for many years, until they retired to Story City in 1955. Mrs. Hanson had been a resident of Story City Bethany Manor the last few years until her death.
She is survived by her husband, Andrew, of Story City Bethany Manor; two daughters, Betty Runft, Mequon, Wisc. and Dorothy Dahlquist, Fort Dodge; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and one sister, Anna Gibson of Story City Bethany Manor.
Preceding her in death were he parents, three sisters and three brothers.
