LILLIE A. HALLELAND
Funeral services for Lillie A. Halleland were held Saturday, Jan. 3, 1981, at 1:30 p.m. at the Ryan Funeral Home, Nevada, with burial at the Story Memorial Gardens in Ames. Pastor Cecil Wells of Ames officiated. Beeula Settle accompanied Crystal Meyer as she sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "The Lord's Prayer."
Pall bearers were John Halleland, Herbert Halleland, Jr., Chuck Harrell, Bill Haugsted, Bob Looft and Ralph Waters.
Lillie Abagail Prill Halleland, the daughter of Frank and Cora Storrs Prill, was born in Belle Plain on Dec. 27, 1898.
On Sept. 1, 1926, she was united in marriage to Peter R. Halleland of Nevada at the bride's sister's home in Cedar Rapids, Ia. by the Rev. J.S. Lilley of the John Huss Methodist Church.
Mrs. Halleland was a longtime resident of Nevada, working for the Nevada Evening Journal, R.H. Donnelley Co. and as an Avon Lady for many years. She was extremely active as a band mother for the Nevada High School Marching band from 1950 to 1952.
She passed away at Story County Hospital Thursday noon, Jan. 1, 1981.
She is survived by one son, Gary, of Fairmont, Minn.; six grandchildren, Kim and Scott, Cleveland, Ohio, Julie, Jeff, Greg and Geri of Fairmont; and one sister, Mrs. A. Schluntz of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Peter, and one brother, Cleon Prill.
