John Thorsbakken, Former Story Cityan Died at Buffalo Center

Story City, July 30--John M. Thorsbakken, 58, died in a hospital at Buffalo Center Friday morning, July 29, following and operation a week before, according to word reashing relatives here.

Thorsbakken, who lived around Story City until three years ago, had since lived near Elmore, Minnesota.

Born in Norway, he came to America when about 18 years of age and was married to Carrie Chelley of Story City about eight years ago.

A brief funeral will be held Monday forenoon at Elmore, after which the body will be brought to Story city and services will be held at 3:00 at Immanuel Lutheran church, after which burial will be in the Story City cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, their little daughter, Clarice Marie, age 5 and brothers Ole of Story City, Marius of Osceola, Wisconsin, Andres of Jewell and one brother in Norway.
