DEATHS

Funeral services for Mrs. Mabel Mathiason were held in Grace EUB Church, Story City at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9 with pastor Paul H. Beckman officiating.

Mrs. Dorrel Doolittle, organist, accompanied Mrs. Clara Anderson and Theodore Quam, soloists, who sang, "Going Down the Vally" and "Near the Cross". Pallbearers were Donald Hernderson, Lawrence Osheim, John Wierson, James Lee, Theroy Wierson and Robert Hermanson. Burial was in the Story City Municipal Cemetery.

Mrs. Mabel Mathiason, daughter of Thomas and Celia Thompson was born September 12, 1891 on a farm northwest of Story City and died April 6 at Story City Memorial hospital. She had been ill about then weeks.

On June 9, 1915 she was united in marriage to Nels Mathiason in Des Moines. The young couple set up housekeeping on a farm in Story County. In the fall of 1964 they moved to Story City and made their home at 315 Hillcrest. It was their privilege to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary in June of 1965.

Mrs. Mathiason was a member of the Grace EUB Church. Survivors include her husband, Nels; two daughters and one son, Mrs. Mildred Thompson of Osage; Mrs. Celia Nessa of Hubbard and Emery Mathiason of Ames; two brothers, Sofus Thompson of Story City and Theodore Thompson; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
