Wilhelm Holm, 73, Dies in Hospital At Ames on Sunday

Wilhelm Holm, 73, former resident of Story City, died in Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames at 4:30 p.m. Sunday following surgery of some three weeks ago.

He was born in Norway and farmed for years around Story City and then moved to Randall where he followed the carpenter's trade. The last 10 years had been spent with his son at Stanhope, helping farm.

He is survived by three children: one daughter, Mrs. Everett Nelson, of Newell; two sons, Willard of Story City and Harold of Stanhope.

One sister, Mrs. Bertha LaPlante, of North Lake, Ill. survives. There are nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren in addition to nieces and nephews and a number of relatives in Norway.

The funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the St. Petri Lutheran Church in Story City and interment will be in the Story City Municipal Cemetery. Pastor Enoch Hall of the St. Petri Lutheran Church will be in charge.

The body will lie in state at the Soderstrum-Larson Funeral Home in Story City from Tuesday morning until Wednesday noon.
